In the IRI Data Library, we have gridded daily rainfall analyses from the Climate Prediction Center (CPC) for the United States/Mexico region. The archived data are at 1 x 1 degree resolution and extend from Jan 1, 1948 to Apr 30, 1999. This dataset can be found here:
